SENIORS TOGETHER ENHANCING PHYSICAL SUCCESS (STEPS)
It is commonly recognized that regular physical activity in the older adult population can decrease the risk of developing high blood pressure, osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes and depression. Seniors can improve their health and maintain their independence by incorporating physical activity into their daily lives.
The STEPS program focuses on important skills; endurance, strength, balance, posture and flexibility. Although the program is designed for physically unfit older adults, it is broken down it to two formats, for those more active and the “near frail” seniors.
Trainers will lead you step-by-step to a healthier, better looking you. They will show proper weight lifting techniques that will strengthen your body and which will result in a boost in metabolism. The stronger you are the easier it is to move.
